Get On The Front Foot, Save $6000 On Awd Magnas

It might be Australia's first homegrown all-wheel-drive sedan, but Mitsubishi's Magna AWD - released scarcely three months ago - has a discount of up to $6000.
Standard front-drive models are already the subject of a $6800 factory reduction to $26,990 plus on-roads (for 2003-build cars).
Now the AWD sedans have come under "sticker siege".
The list price of the Magna Executive AWD (with 3.5-litre V6 and automatic transmission)
is $37,490 or $3700 more than a standard front-driver. However, recent deals suggest it can be negotiated down to a surprisingly sharp $31,490.
Standard equipment on the front-drive Executive includes driver's airbag, anti-lock brakes, air-conditioning, cruise control, keyless entry, CD player and power windows. The AWD variant adds a passenger airbag, upgraded brakes and 16-inch alloy wheels.
Expect savings of the same order on higher-grade Sports and Verada AWDs, bringing them to $37,290 and $40,460 respectively.
Heavily facelifted, the front-drive TL Magnas arrive in July, the AWDs in September and the high-performance Ralliart variants early next year. TL Magnas carry over the same driveline. All models will have four airbags, five-speed automatic and climate-control air-conditioning.
Mitsubishi dealers, already struggling with a 16 per cent downturn in Magna sales this year, have expressed dismay that the next-generation Magna was revealed at the New York show, three months ahead of its Australian launch.
